Built For Movement: RiACTIVE
What if activewear didn’t just perform, but actually encouraged you to move around in them, made you feel confident and made you seen?
That’s the question that sparked the inception of RiACTIVE: a movement first women activewear brand built for women who want to move, stretch, sweat, and live without compromise.
Our WHY?
Tank tops, an essential in our workout wardrobe, were either too revealing, too tight, or simply unavailable in the right fit. Most Indian women, including Ria Shah (Founder of RiACTIVE), often opted for oversized clothes to feel comfortable, cautious about their stomach bulge or muffin tops being exposed while working out.
But this didn’t sit well with her. She wanted the option of wearing fitted clothes that made her feel tall, confident, and beautiful- without having to compromise. Why should women have to choose between performance, comfort, or style? She believed we deserved all three.
So, she decided to take things into her own hands.
The power of community:
Ria knew her idea had to be tested and shaped by the very people she wanted to design for. Through surveys, polls, and countless sample tests, she listened closely to what women across India had to say. One thing stood out: most tank tops on the market focused on the midsection – an area many women felt self-conscious about.
Instead, she reimagined the design to highlight the collarbones and shoulders- features that instantly bring elegance, help women stand taller, and showcase confidence. Made to benefit every Indian body type and paired with a snug sculpt fit and gentle compression, the tank was created to support movement while making women feel secure, stylish, and strong.
Designs, fabric and wash testing:
One thing that was at core apart from the designs was the fabric that we use. It had to be just as special as the design. We sampled dozens of blends, and rejected countless options. Some were breathable but lacked stretch. Others sculpted well but felt plasticky. None were good enough. And then, we found the perfect blend finally after a year’s of constant R&D- Curvease is a thoughtful blend of polyester and nylon brushes that feels buttery smooth, moves with you, and most importantly, doesn’t cost a fortune. It gives you that luxe, international feel without burning a hole in your pocket. It has –

We truly believe that your clothes should keep up with your hustle. That’s why every fabric is put through stress tests and 100+ washes before it’s ever cut. That means your tanks, sports bras and leggings will hold its shape, keep its colour, and look brand new even after endless wears.
One of Riactive’s biggest early hurdles? Finding a fabric that could do it all.
